As part of the Jaguar Land Rover sustainability plan, GMI Energy installed a 49.9kWp solar PV system on a new logistics facility, adjacent to the brand new visitor centre at the company’s advanced manufacturing plant in Solihull. The system will provide a source of renewable electricity and virtually all power for the visitor centre. This will result in annual equivalent CO2 emissions savings of 22 tonnes per year, which roughly equates to the carbon sequestered by 590 tree seedlings grown for ten years.

The project also included the installation of a bespoke screen in the visitor centre that enables all visitors to see how well the system is performing in near-real time. In addition to this, GMI Energy Facilities Management will be monitoring the system closely to ensure it is generating the expected yield.
